Interlocking Hempcrete Block Drawings

Job ID: 40109814

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

We consumer goods to sustainable building materials. We will be making interlocking, mortarless hempcrete block system for residential walls. The design must anticipate hand placement and transit without chipping (generous edge radii), and release cleanly from a steel mould (draft angle).

We will use these drawings to hand off to mold makers and to use for illustrations.

Four block variants are required. The first (P1) is fixed at 400 × 350 × 200 mm; I will supply the exact sizes for the remaining three once the design framework is agreed. All blocks must share a tongue-and-groove profile that keeps them aligned without mortar while leaving space for the reinforcing frame that carries the structural load. A consistent 1–2° draft on every mould face is essential for demoulding.

Deliverables
• SolidWorks (.sldprt) model for each of the four blocks, draft angles applied
• 2D manufacturing sheets (DWG or PDF) with all critical dims, tolerances and draft notes
• Brief design note outlining interlock logic, reinforcement allowances and acoustic and thermal considerations

Completion is met when the files import cleanly into my mould assembly, the virtual blocks stack without interference, and every face respects the agreed draft.

Will ask you to drop these into a build plan for 3 small structures to help clients visualize the build and identify the number of each type of block needed for different structures.

Molds will initially be one offs to test then will move to multiple cavity tools for CMU.

Thanks. Looking for those with architectural / structural engineering proficiency. Hempcrete is a non load bearing insulative ( thermal and acoustic) material. Buildings will be built with steel reinforced post and beam OR standard framing Wood OR treated bamboo posts
