Industrial Plastic Enclosure Design
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I need a clean, professional-grade plastic enclosure designed for an indoor piece of industrial equipment. The electronics inside are already finalised; what’s missing is a sturdy housing that can handle light factory conditions while remaining easy to assemble on our line.
Key requirements
• Screw-on lid: four to six stainless M3 screws should secure a recessed cover, with a gasket groove I can over-mould if we choose to improve dust resistance later.
• Injection-mouldable geometry: uniform wall thickness, generous draft angles, and no undercuts that would complicate a two-part tool.
• Internal features: PCB standoffs, slots for two ribbon cables, Precise holes with allowance for square LED projection and power socket projection.
• Mounting: integrated flanges with 4 mm clearance holes so the box can bolt straight to an aluminium frame.
• Exterior size target: roughly 210× 160 × 70 mm, 170× 100 × 50 mm though I have ±5 mm flexibility in every axis.
Deliverables
1. 3D CAD model in STEP (preferred) plus native file from SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Inventor.
2. 2-D drawings with critical dimensions, tolerances, and resin call-outs (ABS/PC blend).
3. Rendered images for documentation and a short note outlining tooling considerations.
4. One round of revisions after I review the first model.
The faster you can turn the first draft, the sooner we can move to tooling, so please let me know your typical lead time along with any past examples of similar enclosures.
