Industrial Manufacturing Machinery Design
Budget: $30 – $60 NZD
I’m developing a new piece of industrial-grade machinery intended for a manufacturing line here in New Zealand and I’m after a mechanical engineer who can own the full product-design cycle. Because of the need for occasional site visits, supplier liaison, and compliance with local standards, I strongly prefer someone already based in New Zealand.
The work starts at concept generation and runs through to production-ready documentation. You’ll translate my performance requirements and rough sketches into detailed 3D CAD models, validate the design with strength and tolerance analysis, and prepare drawings that a local fabricator can pick up without follow-up questions. Familiarity with common NZ/AU standards, readily available materials, and local safety regulations is essential.
Key deliverables
• Concept layouts and rendered visuals for review
• Parametric CAD assemblies (SolidWorks or Inventor welcome)
• FEA or equivalent calculations that justify critical load-bearing features
• Fully dimensioned manufacturing drawings, BOM, and recommended suppliers
• A brief hand-over report that explains operation, maintenance access, and future upgrade paths
