Hydraulic Cylinder & Seal Groove Design

Job ID: 40028597

Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR

I need a hydraulic design specialist to take my rough concept for an industrial-machinery cylinder and turn it into shop-ready documentation. The unit will work in a single-acting circuit with a target stroke between 12" and 24", so overall length, port placement, and return-spring space have to be balanced carefully.

Beyond the basic barrel, rod, and end-cap layout, I also need precisely engineered grooves for rod and piston seals, wear rings, and snap rings. The groove geometry must meet the relevant ISO / NFPA standards to ensure interchangeability with common U-cups and O-rings. Material and surface-finish recommendations for each component are part of the brief, as the cylinder will operate in a steel-mill environment where scale and heat are factors.

Please work in a mainstream CAD platform such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or Creo so I can open and revise the model in-house. FEA to verify buckling and pressure loads (3,000 psi max) is strongly preferred, and any calculations—stress, flow, or bearing—should be included in a short design report.

Deliverables expected:
• Parametric 3D model of the complete cylinder assembly
• Detailed 2D manufacturing drawings with tolerances, surface finishes, and callouts for seal grooves
• Bill of materials with material grades and treatments
• Brief PDF report covering design rationale, FEA snapshots, and seal-groove standards referenced

I’ll review the initial model for fit and mounting, request any tweaks, then move to final approval. If you have recent experience designing industrial single-acting cylinders or similar heavy-duty actuators, I’d like to see a sample.
