High Capacity Tow Behind Spreader Design

Job ID: 40035923

Budget: $250 – $750 AUD

I’m ready to move from concept to build-ready plans for a fertiliser/manure spreader that can be hitched to a standard tractor. The priority is a high-capacity hopper that lets an operator cover more ground before refilling, yet the unit still has to handle mixed terrain—everything from flat paddocks to rolling, uneven fields—without compromising stability, ground clearance, or an even spread pattern.

What I need from you is a complete engineering package delivered within the next month. That means a 3D CAD assembly, detailed manufacturing drawings with tolerances, a materials and fasteners list, and any supporting calculations or simulations that prove the frame, axle, and drive components will hold up under full load. If you prefer SolidWorks, Inventor, or another professional tool set, that’s fine; just make sure the final files are editable.

Key considerations I’ll be looking for:
• Hopper volume and centre-of-gravity placement that keeps tongue weight in a safe range.
• Spreader mechanism sized for common granular fertiliser and composted manure, with guidance on drive ratios for various spread rates.
• Robust suspension or flotation tyre selection to ride smoothly over ruts, dips, and small slopes.
• Compatibility with a typical drawbar or clevis hitch and PTO or hydraulic power pick-up (if your concept uses powered components).
• Clear maintenance access for washing out corrosive residues.

Once the design package is complete, I’ll review against those points and run a quick cross-check in my own CAD environment. If everything matches the specs and documentation, the project is done.
