Garage Door Conversion Drawings
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m converting my detached two–car garage from two individual 7' × 8' overhead doors to one 18' × 7' aluminum door with glass panels, and I need a permit-ready drawing set for Jefferson County, Missouri. Because I do not have any existing architectural plans, the job will start with field measurements and a fresh set of as-built sketches, then move straight into the new framing layout.
Structural engineering must be integrated and stamped for Missouri. The header sizing, side-wall reinforcement, and footing checks all have to satisfy the current ICC/IBC codes adopted by Jefferson County, and I’ll need calculations included for the permit reviewer.
Please produce a concise package that a county plans examiner can approve without redlines:
• Scaled architectural floor plan and elevations showing the existing and proposed opening
• Structural framing plan, header/column details, connection specs, and load calculations stamped for MO
• Door and frame schedule calling out the aluminum/glass unit, flashing, and weather-seal details
• General notes and code references specific to Jefferson County requirements
• PDF for electronic submission plus one plotted set if needed
