Finalize Fixture Design in SolidWorks
Budget: €12 – €18 EUR
We are looking for an experienced SolidWorks mechanical designer to finalize an existing mechanical project.
The project is a welding fixture, currently ~80% completed as a STEP model.
The task is to fully rebuild and finalize the project in SolidWorks, prepare complete manufacturing documentation, and ensure the model is fully constrained and error-free.
Scope of work
The scope includes, but is not limited to:
Rebuild all parts in SolidWorks
Import STEP geometry and redraw each component natively in SolidWorks
Maintain design intent and parametric structure
Apply proper tolerances
Dimensional tolerances according to mechanical best practices
Functional fits where applicable
Engineering corrections and improvements
Introduce design corrections if needed
Add missing components or details required for correct functionality or manufacturability
Assembly preparation
Create a complete SolidWorks assembly
Fully defined mates (no underdefined or conflicting relations)
No errors, warnings, or rebuild issues
Manufacturing drawings
Individual production drawings for each part
Tolerances clearly defined
Drawings prepared using our company drawing template
Assembly drawing
Assembly drawing with Bill of Materials (BOM)
BOM table formatted according to our template
Project size:
Type: fixture
Number of parts: ~20 components
Overall dimensions: approx. 150 × 80 × 100 mm
Complexity: Small project
Timeline:
Total project duration: 1 week
Project must be completed within this timeframe
Daily progress updates are required
Required qualifications:
To successfully complete this project, the freelancer must have:
Strong experience with SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, drawings)
Proven background in mechanical design / machine design / fixtures
Solid understanding of:
Mechanical tolerancing
Fits and clearances
Manufacturing processes (machining, welding, assembly)
Ability to work with STEP files and rebuild parametric models
Experience preparing production-ready drawings
High attention to detail and engineering discipline
Ability to communicate progress daily in a clear and structured way
Additional notes:
Project files (STEP + drawing templates) will be provided after selection
Clear communication and adherence to deadlines are critical
This is a well-defined, compact project, but requires professional execution.
Due to the proprietary nature of this project, the selected freelancer will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before receiving any project files or technical details.
