EPP Manufacturing 3D Product Model
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need a production-ready 3D model of a new item that will be molded in expanded polypropylene (EPP). The file you create has to serve directly for manufacturing, so wall thicknesses, draft angles, undercuts and parting lines must be considered from the outset.
Here is what I already have:
• A rough hand sketch with basic dimensions and functional notes
• Reference photos of similar EPP parts that demonstrate the finish and level of detail I’m after
Your job is to turn that information into a clean, fully parametric CAD model. I work mainly with STEP files, but if you prefer SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or similar that is fine as long as a neutral STEP file is included in the final hand-off.
Deliverables
1. Native CAD file (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent)
2. Exported STEP file suitable for tooling
3. Simple exploded view or sectioned screenshot highlighting any inserts or metal bushings required
4. One revision round after I review the initial model with the molder
Acceptance criteria
• All geometry meets typical EPP molding constraints (minimum 1° draft, even wall thickness, no blind undercuts)
• Overall dimensions stay within ±0.5 mm of the provided spec
• Model opens error-free in both your native software and in a neutral STEP viewer
If you have hands-on experience designing parts for EPP, EPS, or similar bead-foam processes, let me know in your proposal and feel free to share a relevant portfolio example.
