Drum Smoker CAD Standardization
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
I have a commercial drum smoker already in steady production, but our documentation is scattered across a few DXF cut files and a folder of build photos. I now need to capture the entire unit in one consistent, fabrication-ready package so we can hand the drawings to any metal shop and receive identical smokers every time.
Here is what I’m after:
• 3D CAD model—detailed with all components and materials called out, accurate enough to drive nesting, bending and assembly without guesswork.
• 2D fabrication drawings compiled in clear, well-layered PDFs (title blocks, critical dimensions, weld symbols, tolerances, bend lines, material specs).
• A prototype-level BOM that ties every part number in the model to thickness, material, and vendor notes.
I will supply pictures of the smoker itself with included measurements , the original DXF cut files, and high-resolution photos showing how each part is formed and installed. You can work in SolidWorks, Inventor, or another mainstream parametric tool as long as STEP and native files are included at the end.
Phase 1 is strictly documentation and manufacturability,no redesign or certification work is expected. If this initial scope runs smoothly, follow-on phases could include fixture design and cost-reduction tweaks.
