Diagnostic Device 3D Prototype Design

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I’m developing a new diagnostic medical device and need a production-ready 3D model that can move straight into rapid prototyping. I already have some rough concept sketches, but they need to be translated into a coherent, manufacturable CAD design.

Key goals
• Preserve strict ergonomics so the device feels natural in a clinician’s hand.
• Maintain portability—compact internal layout and lightweight housing are essential.
• Integrate a clear user interface display area that accommodates a small touchscreen.

Scope of work
1. Review my existing sketches and clarify form, dimensions, and component placement.
2. Create a detailed 3D CAD model (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or comparable professional tool) including exterior shell, internal mounting points, and basic PCB envelope.
3. Provide exploded views and sectional cut-aways for mechanical and electrical teams.
4. Deliver STL/STEP files optimized for 3D printing plus high-resolution renders for presentations.
5. Allow for two refinement cycles to fine-tune ergonomics, balance, and display angle.

Success criteria
• All major parts can be printed on a standard SLA/SLS printer without additional supports.
• Wall thickness, snap fits, and mating features follow common DFM guidelines.
• Final model aligns with the portable weight target (I’ll supply component mass data).
