Hello,
I am looking for an experienced 3D designer / CAD specialist to create a custom enclosure for a portable Raspberry Pi 5 setup designed to function as a tablet.
Project Overview
The enclosure must integrate the following components:
Raspberry Pi 5
Official 9-inch Raspberry Pi display
Waveshare UPS HAT (E) 6A with 4× 21700 batteries
I will provide STEP files for the Raspberry Pi 5, display, and UPS HAT module.
Requirements
General Design
Design a robust 2-part enclosure (front + back) suitable for FDM 3D printing
The enclosure must be reopenable multiple times without damage
Clean and practical design preferred (industrial / functional style is fine)
Assembly & Mounting
Proper mounting points for all internal components
Full access to all external ports (Raspberry Pi + UPS module)
Secure mounting support for the official Raspberry Pi active cooler/fan
Easy assembly and maintenance access
Cooling & Airflow
Proper ventilation for airflow and cooling
Air intake and exhaust openings
Internal rails/slots to allow insertion of thin dust filters over intake areas
Portability
Suitable for portable everyday use
Include an integrated handle or side grips for easier carrying and handling
3D Printing Constraints
Design optimized for standard FDM printing
Avoid unnecessary supports whenever possible
Screws, threaded inserts, or snap-fit solutions are all acceptable (open to recommendations)
Deliverables
STL files ready for printing
Source CAD files (STEP and/or SOLIDWORKS 2022 compatible files)
Preferred Experience
Experience designing enclosures for electronics
Experience with Raspberry Pi projects is a plus
Understanding of thermal and mechanical constraints for portable devices
