Design My Mechanical Innovations
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
I’m sitting on a portfolio of more than twenty mechanical inventions that are still at the conceptual stage, and I need a talented product designer to turn those raw ideas into manufacturable realities. Every concept is sketched out and functionally explained, but none have formal CAD models, engineering drawings, or production-ready files. Your job is to bridge that gap.
You’ll be working strictly on product design for mechanical devices. Typical tasks involve translating my notes and rough sketches into detailed 3D models, choosing sensible mechanisms and materials, and shaping each design so it can move smoothly into prototyping and, ultimately, production. Any mainstream CAD platform—SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360, or similar—works for me as long as the output is industry-standard (STEP, IGES, native files).
Deliverables for each invention
• Concept sketch refinement and 3D CAD model
• Exploded views and assembly drawings with basic tolerances
• A short material/manufacturing rationale so I can discuss feasibility with suppliers
• Photorealistic renderings for presentations
Acceptance criteria
The CAD files must open without errors, parts must assemble as modelled, and the material notes need enough detail for a prototype shop to quote confidently.
Because there are many devices, we can work milestone-by-milestone—one invention at a time—so we both stay organized and on schedule. Let’s talk through your approach, typical turnaround per item, and any questions you have about the concepts before we lock in the first milestone.
