Design Compact Saltwater Fishing Boat

Job ID: 40205996

Budget: $750 – $1,500 AUD

I’m ready to turn my concept for a sub-5-metre salt-water fishing boat into a fully engineered reality and need an experienced naval architect to take the lead. The goal is a sturdy, trailer-able craft that comfortably carries two anglers and their gear while handling choppy coastal conditions with confidence.

You’ll start from my rough sketches and performance targets, then develop the complete design package—hull lines, structural scantlings, weight estimates and hydrostatic data—working to ABYC or ISO small-craft standards. I’m open to aluminium or fibreglass construction; your analysis and recommendations will guide the final choice.

CAD expertise with tools such as Rhino + Orca3D, Maxsurf, SolidWorks or similar is essential, along with a proven track record designing small fishing skiffs or tenders for salt water. Good communication is key as we’ll iterate together until the plans are ready for the builder.

Deliverables
• Lines plan and 3D hull model
• Stability and hydrostatics report
• Structural drawings with material specs
• Bill of materials and weight breakdown
• Production-ready 2D fabrication drawings

If you’re excited to craft an efficient, sea-worthy fishing boat under 5 m, let’s get started.
