Custom Hunting Airgun Prototype

Job ID: 40112240

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

I need an experienced designer to take a clean-sheet idea for a hunting-grade airgun and turn it into a functional prototype I can field-test. The platform must be optimized for ethical, reliable game dispatch, so accuracy, consistency, and compact ergonomics matter more to me than pure power numbers.

What I have
• A basic concept sketch of the form factor
• Performance goals (energy level, effective range, sub-MOA at 50 m)
• No fixed caliber yet

What you will deliver
1. Concept refinement and final 3-view drawings
2. Full 3D CAD model with all internals (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)
3. Bill of materials and recommended suppliers
4. Prototype fabrication (either handled in-house or coordinated through your machine shop network)
5. Bench test data: velocity spread, accuracy groups, chronograph logs
6. Short video walk-through of the prototype in operation

Acceptance criteria
• Meets or exceeds the agreed muzzle energy and accuracy targets
• Passes 500-shot stress test without seal failure or pressure loss
• All CAD and documentation delivered in editable native files plus STEP/IGES export

Helpful extras
If you have CFD experience for airflow around the projectile, or background in PCP regulator tuning, mention it—it could speed up our iteration cycle.

Timeline is flexible but I’d like the first digital mock-up within four weeks, with a physical prototype following once parts are machined.

Share relevant examples of past airgun, paintball marker, or pneumatic tool projects so I can gauge fit.
