Custom Aluminum VESA Extending Arm
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I need a purpose-built wall-mount bracket arm that can telescope out between 30 cm and 60 cm while keeping a square VESA interface (75 mm and 100 mm patterns) on both ends. Aluminum is required for the entire structural portion so the finished piece stays light yet sturdy, and it must safely hold displays or light equipment up to 10 kg without noticeable sag or play.
The task covers the full mechanical design and manufacturing preparation. A clean industrial look, concealed cable channel, and smooth, tool-free extension mechanism are highly preferred, but function and strength remain top priority. Please base the design on standard aluminum profiles or custom-machined parts—whichever gives the best mix of rigidity, weight, and cost.
Deliverables
• 3D CAD model (STEP or SolidWorks) with full assembly and exploded views
• 2D manufacturing drawings with tolerances and fastener call-outs
• Simple finite-element stress check that verifies the 10 kg load at full extension
• A short BOM listing aluminum grades, bearings/slides, and VESA screws readily available worldwide
Once I approve the CAD, I’ll move to prototyping, so parts must be manufacturable on common CNC mills or extrusion cuts without exotic setups.
