Convertible High Heel Mechanism CAD
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
I’m developing a women’s shoe whose 50 mm heel can disappear underneath the sole, giving the wearer an instant switch between high-heel and flat modes. I already know the rough envelope (about 70 mm × 30 mm) and the components I want—base plate, heel rod, link plates, pivot pins, sliding lock, spring, push button and bottom cover—but I need a complete mechanical solution that is ready for prototyping.
Here is what I need from you: a linkage that folds the heel forward, tucks it cleanly under the sole, then locks firmly in either position. The lock should be a spring-loaded slider actuated by a push button; once flipped, the mechanism must feel solid, show minimal play and withstand normal walking loads. All pivots, link lengths and clearances must be defined so the heel travels smoothly and seats flush when folded.
You are free to work in SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or AutoCAD as long as the hand-off files are neutral and fully dimensioned. If you prefer another mainstream package that exports high-quality STEP and STL, let me know up front.
Deliverables I expect:
• A clear concept model showing linkage motion and locking logic
• Fully detailed 3D CAD assembly with correct mates/joints
• Exploded and assembly drawings highlighting pivot centres, link lengths and tolerances
• Part drawings for every metal or plastic piece, sized for CNC or laser-cut fabrication
• Manufacturing drawings that call out material, finish and any heat-treat or spring specs
• Exported STEP and STL files plus a PDF set of all technical drawings
If something in the geometry forces a small tweak to the envelope or the 50 mm heel height, flag it early so we can decide together. My acceptance criteria are simple: the model folds and locks in both positions without interference, all drawings are dimension-complete, and the mechanism can be manufactured without guesswork.
