Consumer Electronics Prototype Development
Budget: £10 – £15 GBP
I have a new consumer-electronics idea that is ready to move straight into the prototype phase, and I need an experienced design engineer who can make that happen as soon as possible. The basic concept and core features are already defined; what I’m missing is a robust, manufacturable prototype that proves the design works in the real world and can be taken to short-run production without costly re-work.
Here’s what I expect from our collaboration:
• Translate my existing concept into full 3D CAD with all critical tolerances, joining methods, and material choices clearly documented.
• Prepare fabrication-ready files—STEP or SolidWorks models for the mechanical housing plus any necessary 2D drawings—so a machine shop or rapid-prototyping service can build it straight away.
• Advise on component selection, assembly approach, and basic design-for-manufacture considerations so we avoid roadblocks when scaling.
• Share progress files frequently; I’d like to review iterations in real time because the timeline is tight.
• Deliver a final package that includes source files, an exploded-view assembly, and a concise build guide so I can hand it to a prototype house immediately.
Speed matters: I’m aiming to kick off work the moment we agree on scope and wrap up the initial physical build as quickly as technically feasible. If you have a proven track record in consumer-electronics enclosures or similar devices and can slot in right away, let’s talk.
