Commode-to-Squat Toilet Converter
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
I need a product designer to turn my rough idea of a western-to-Indian convertible toilet fitting into a fully detailed CAD model that can go straight to a fabricator in India. The unit must sit securely on a standard western commode and let the user climb up, rest both feet, and squat safely without drilling into the ceramic or surrounding walls.
Material: metal or any other strong material, preferably something corrosion-resistant that still keeps weight down.
Key functional requirements
• Stable climbing support and foot platform
• Non-slip surface, yet easy to rinse clean
• Overall structure kept as lightweight as possible
• Foldable design so the fitting can tuck away when not in use
• Trendy and minimal looks, yet reliable. Appealing to young adults.
• Safely supports an adult up to 100kg
• The design should serve as a universal base model that can be adapted with dimensional adjustments to fit different commode sizes.
I’ve included the dimensions of a standard commode in the attached snapshots and shared draft sketches of my concept, but these are only for reference—the final design can be entirely different and meets the stated Key functional requirements.
Deliverables
1. Complete 3D CAD assembly (STEP/IGES + native file) with all parts and hinges.
2. Exploded view and basic load calculations showing it will hold an adult safely.
Short manufacturing note: recommended metal, thicknesses, common Indian fabrication processes, and support during manufacturing.
Stages:
1. Draft Stage: Rough sketches or concept models to review options.
2. CAD Design Stage for the finalized design.
3. Manufacturing Support
