Candela-Inspired Commercial Hydrofoil Design

Job ID: 40546601

Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 USD

I need a complete dynamic hydrofoil package for a commercial-grade electric craft, taking Sweden’s CANDELA boats as the performance and styling benchmark. My main focus is on achieving their sleek exterior lines, ultra-efficient electric propulsion integration and the same silky handling that lets the boat “fly” above chop. That means the work goes well beyond drawing a foil: I also want the right wing section, a robust actuation mechanism and control logic that keeps the ride level under varying loads and speeds.

Scope
• Hydrofoil geometry – front and rear wings, struts and fuselage shaped for lift-to-drag ratios comparable to CANDELA’s published figures.
• Structural layout – laminate schedules or alloy specifications ready for prototyping and class approval.
• Trim and roll control – electrically driven flap or surface-changing solution sized for commercial duty cycles, with kinematic diagrams.
• Propulsion interface – foil-mounted motor pod or shaft arrangement optimised through CFD for minimal cavitation.
• Exterior styling – concept renders that capture CANDELA’s clean Scandinavian look while leaving room for branding.

Preferred workflow
SolidWorks or Rhino for CAD, Star-CCM+ / ANSYS Fluent for CFD, and Orca3D or MAXSURF for hydrostatics. If you rely on different but equivalent tools, that is fine as long as you can supply STEP files and full analysis reports.

Deliverables
1. 3D CAD assemblies of the hydrofoil system
2. CFD and stability reports showing take-off speed, cruise efficiency and manoeuvring loads
3. Manufacturing-ready drawings with tolerances
4. A short controls brief describing sensors, actuators and redundancy strategy
5. Photorealistic renders highlighting the final exterior look

Acceptance criteria
• Stable foil-borne cruise at 20+ kn with ≤3° pitch variation in 0.5 m waves
• Predicted energy consumption on par with CANDELA C-8 figures at equal displacement
• All files open cleanly in the stated formats and match delivered reports

If this matches your expertise, let me know how soon you can deliver a first hydro-static and CFD pass so we can schedule reviews and move toward prototype fabrication.
