CNC Workholding Fixture Design -- 2

Job ID: 40120031

Budget: $8 – $15 USD

The task is to design and model work-holding fixtures that bolt to the 4th axis of my 3 + 1-axis CNC mill. I will supply fully detailed CAD of each component to be clamped, plus photos and CAD models of similar fixtures we have used before. You will also receive the machine’s clearance dimensions, mounting specifications and axis configurations so every corner, clamp and fastener clears the envelope.

I prefer the fixtures to be modelled in aluminium and need someone comfortable with both fixture design theory and real-world machining practice; knowing how cutters reach, chips evacuate and clamps load is critical. Good spoken and written English is required because we will iterate in real time over Zoom or Teams, usually during a partial Australia–Europe/Asia overlap but exact hours are flexible.

Deliverables for each part run:
• Parametric 3D CAD of the complete fixture
• STEP/IGES exports for CAM and simulation
• A fully dimensioned 2D assembly drawing

If you can also arrange a competitive quote for machining and freight to Australia, note that in your bid—handy, though not mandatory.

Work will be billed hourly. When the first fixture proves successful there will be repeat projects as new parts enter the queue, so I’m aiming to build a long-term relationship with a responsive, technically savvy designer-machinist.
