3D CAD for Plastic Light

Job ID: 40443579

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I’ve been hand-assembling a small, disposable decorative light and it’s proven popular enough that I’m ready to shift to full-scale manufacturing. What I need now is a clean, production-ready 3D CAD model that a plastic moulder can use without additional re-work.

The core concept and rough dimensions are already worked out; you’ll be translating my sketches into a fully detailed model, including split lines, draft angles and uniform wall thickness appropriate for injection-moulded plastic. If a simple internal battery compartment or snap-fit lid improves manufacturability, feel free to suggest it—function must stay identical to the handmade version, but I’m open to subtle tweaks that reduce tooling cost or assembly time.

Deliverables
• Parametric 3D model in STEP (and native SolidWorks/Fusion file if possible)
• Exploded view showing each plastic part and how they mate
• Basic call-outs for tolerances and recommended material grade (I’m leaning toward ABS, though I’ll confirm with the moulder)
• A short note highlighting any design-for-manufacture considerations you’ve added

I’m happy to jump on a quick call and provide photos, measurements and the current prototype so you can hit the ground running. Once the CAD is approved I’ll move straight into tooling, so accuracy and manufacturability are everything.
