Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
Title:
3D CAD Designer Needed to Design a 12 Gauge Ammo Storage Box for 3D Printing (PLA Optimized)
Description:
I am looking for an experienced 3D CAD designer to design a 12-gauge shotgun ammo storage box** optimized for FDM 3D printing (Bambu Lab P1S / PLA material).
The design should be practical, durable, and easy to print, suitable for repeated production on a consumer 3D printer.
Capacity:
30 shotgun shells (12 Gauge)
Layout:
5 × 6 grid
Basic Shell Pocket Dimensions:
• Pocket diameter: ~22.5 mm
• Pocket depth: ~18–20 mm
• Center spacing: ~25 mm
Design Requirements:
The box should include:
1. Two-piece design
Base with integrated shell holder
Hinged lid
2. PLA-friendly hinge
Hinge blocks designed for a 3 mm metal pin or a printed pin
3. Durable latch
Strong snap latch suitable for PLA
Avoid thin fragile clips
4. Finger cutout
For easy shell removal
5. Reinforced base
Structural ribs to prevent flexing
6. Stackable feature
Boxes should stack securely
7. Branding area on lid
Flat area for:
logo
caliber text
personalization
8. Optional drainage holes under shell pockets
Important:
The design must be optimized for PLA printing, meaning:
• Wall thickness around 3 mm or more
• Avoid fragile geometry
• Minimal supports required
• Designed for FDM printing
Deliverables Required:
• Editable CAD file (STEP or Fusion 360 preferred)
• .3MF file prepared for printing (preferred for Bambu Studio)
• STL file as backup
• Separate parts for lid and base
Bonus (Preferred):
Experience designing 3D printable storage boxes, mechanical hinges, or tool organizers.
Please share previous CAD or 3D printing work samples if available.
Future Work Opportunity:
If this design works well, I will require additional versions
This could lead to ongoing design work for shooting accessories.
