I need a concise but technically rigorous study that determines whether an automatic or hydro-mechanical transmission can be successfully retrofitted into legacy T-72 and T-90 main battle tanks.

The heart of the work is a power- and driveline-centred analysis: I want clear answers on whether available automatic gearboxes can meet the torque demands of these platforms and fit inside the current drivetrain envelope. To get there you will:

• Reverse-engineer the existing gearbox space, linkages and cooling paths from the hull and produce an accurate CAD envelope.
• Compare global MBT automatic transmissions, highlighting torque curves, gear ratios, power density and any built-in hydraulic retarder data.
• Examine torque-converter options in depth, showing how each would couple to the V-46/V-92S2 engines and what adapter housings might look like.
• Flag any hull or crew-station changes needed to accommodate shifters, electronic control units and upgraded cooling circuits.

Deliverables
1. Native 3-D CAD model (.step or Parasolid) of the current gearbox bay plus proposed automatic transmission package.
2. Engineering report (≈25 pages) walking through calculations, interference checks and retrofit pathway.
3. Executive slide pack (10–12 slides) summarising feasibility findings for senior decision-makers.

I’ll shortlist freelancers who can show past work on heavy-vehicle powertrain integration, especially those comfortable with drivetrain FEA, CFD for oil cooling, and MIL-STD documentation. Share one or two relevant projects and note which CAD/CAE tools you’ll use—CATIA, Creo, NX, Abaqus, Ansys, etc.
