Mechanical Design & Development of Oil-Lubricated Reciprocating Air Compressor
Project Overview
We are developing a new Indian air compressor brand and require an experienced mechanical design engineer with proven expertise in reciprocating air compressors. The objective is to develop a robust, cost-effective compressor suitable for mass production.
Phase 1
Design a single-cylinder, oil-lubricated 0.5 HP reciprocating air compressor.
Future Expansion
The architecture should be scalable into:
* 1 HP
* 2 HP
* 3 HP
The design should maximize common parts across models wherever practical.
Scope of Work
The selected engineer shall provide:
* Complete 3D CAD model (SolidWorks or Creo preferred)
* Complete assembly model
* Exploded assembly
* Manufacturing drawings
* Casting drawings
* Pattern drawings
* Machining drawings
* Bill of Materials (BOM)
* Standard hardware specification
* Bearing and oil seal selection
* Tolerance and GD&T
* Assembly procedure
* Prototype support
* Design revisions after prototype testing

* Oil-lubricated splash lubrication
* Single-stage reciprocating compressor
* Belt-driven
* Cast iron cylinder
* Aluminium crankcase
* Aluminium cylinder head
* Reed valve (patti) system
* Compact and economical construction
* Easy to manufacture
* Low vibration
* Low noise
* Long service life
* Suitable for continuous operation
Deliverables
* Native CAD files
* STEP files
* PDF drawings
* DXF files (where applicable)
* Complete BOM
* Machining drawings
* Assembly drawings

Engineer Requirements
Preference will be given to engineers with experience in:
* Reciprocating air compressor design
* Compressor valve systems
* Crankshaft and connecting rod design
* Casting design
* Manufacturing engineering
* Prototype development
* Production support
Commercial Proposal

Confidentiality
The selected engineer must be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). All intellectual property, CAD models, drawings, calculations, and design data developed during this project shall become the exclusive property of our company.
