Chibi Penguin-Puffin Sandcast Master
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need a high-resolution, Japanese chibi–style 3D model that I can print on my Photon Mono M7 Max and then press into sand to create a mold for metal casting. Picture an Emperor Penguin and a Puffin standing proudly on a stylised Virgin Voyages cruise ship. The penguin, in classic chibi cuteness, is the star of the scene: he’s leaning forward, beak gently nudging a small rock toward the puffin. I’ll carve the actual rock’s recess after printing, so please leave a smooth, shallow indentation where the stone will sit.
Scale matters: the finished resin print must stay within 5 in (H) × 6 in (L) × 5 in (W) so it works as a desk ornament after I cast it in Nordic Gold. Because this is intended for sandcasting,
• surfaces need crisp but slightly exaggerated forms that read well once metal is poured,
• undercuts should be kept to a minimum or made accessible from below,
• and walls should maintain at least 2 mm thickness to withstand the press into the sand.
Deliverables
• Clean, watertight STL (or preferred slicer-ready format) sized correctly for the Photon Mono M7 Max build volume
• A single-piece version, plus a split version if it helps avoid extreme overhangs or trapped resin
• Brief print orientation and exposure notes so I can get the sharpest details during the resin print
Acceptance criteria: model opens error-free in Lychee/Slicer, fits the stated dimensions, clearly shows the penguin’s nudge action, and preserves the playful chibi proportions while retaining enough surface definition for a highly detailed cast.
