3D architectural design of a drug addiction treatment facility.

Job ID: 32190990

Budget: €1,500 – €3,000 EUR

Please don’t message me with an offer unless you are passionate about helping addicts recover. Too many people messaged me saying that they had fully read the description which they did not. I need someone that understands the problems of current rehab facilities, wether it was your own experience with addiction or through visiting a family member that had been in a facility.

The building will be a tall octagon shaped building. The octagon is because squares and rectangles are boring and I don’t want it looking like other square/rectangle shaped rehabs or a jail. This building needs to look attractive so that people want to stay long enough to get sober. Many rehabs look like jail and are ugly. People leave too early and start using drugs as soon as they get back home... People will stay here for 3-6 months. So it needs to be an extended stay facility. Many rehabs are profit focused, benefitting from “return customers”. This will be a non-profit and we only want to see people get clean and never need to come back through the facility unless they are coming back to volunteer to help others.

The octagon is also more cost efficient when considering perimeter materials vs area. Without becoming too expensive like a circle… Let me explain, if we allow ourselves 80 meters of perimeter, we can build a 10x30 rectangle equaling 300 sq m. Or a 20x20 square thats 400 sq m. Now an octagon with eight 10m long sides will be 482.84 sq m. And finally a circle with 80m perimeter will be 506.70748 sq m. But bending glass and metal to make a circle is very expensive. So an octagon is a compromise. An octagon will be more expensive than a rectangle or square of course, but the extra area and attractiveness will offset the design cost. For this center to work, it needs to be attractive and feel like a resort or vacation and not like a rehab or jail.

For the design. The first floor will be a garage/storage area and much taller than all other floors, the second floor will house multiple beds and be a place for people to sleep. The bedrooms should be simple, but modern in style, showers, and a large/professional laundry area all on the same floor. On the third floor, a commercial kitchen, dining area, etc., 4th floor will be a gym, mediation/yoga area, with a float tank. The other floors will be filled with other amenities. Movie Theatre, video games, etc. I haven’t fully finished the design but any extra space will be left to add more bedrooms. This building be be secluded in a forest, away from the city. The rooftop will be about 10 feet higher than the trees, so please include the trees in the 3D image. The roof top will have a hot tub plus chairs for relaxation and enjoying the view.

Total height will be about 110 feet, With a total of 8 stories and material will be primarily steel. Like a small skyscraper. The outer edge will have an elevator and staircase for safety in case the elevator stops working or a fire. The design needs to be as modern as possible with lots of glass windows replacing outer walls.

The plan is to take this rough draft 3D design and show it to people that might be interested in joining the board of directors to apply for non profit recognition. Then once the non profit status is official, the design will be shown to potential donators. Things like the bedrooms will be shown To Tempur-pedic, purple, sleep number, and all the other major bed companies. The company that donates the beds will be recognized publicly and gain more customers through this free advertising. The gym will be shown to planet fitness, Golds, etc. The kitchen shown to Lowes, Home Depot, and all the custom furniture brands. Because of the octagon design, the rooms will require lots of custom fit furniture, plumbing, AC/Heat, etc. I will show the 3D rough draft of the design to the professionals and see how they want to change it to better accommodate for the essential things like the HVAC, air ducts, etc. For now it should be somewhat simple.
