Short Film AI Restoration

Job ID: 40469100

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

I have a 20-minute short film that was shot on standard-definition video back in 2001. The original master has the usual early-2000s issues—soft detail, washed-out colour, and noticeable video noise. It also has blurriness throughout. I’d like to breathe new life into it with modern AI tools so it plays today as a pristine, cinematic piece.

What I need: the footage up-rezed cleanly, colour-graded so skin tones and ambience feel contemporary, and the noise all but eliminated without introducing plastic artefacts. Think Topaz Video AI (or an equivalent deep-learning upscaler) paired with DaVinci Resolve or After Effects for tasteful grading and finishing. Subtle film-like texture is welcome as long as the image looks polished rather than artificially over-sharpened.

Final delivery must be a high-quality MOV file ready for festival submissions and streaming. Please retain the original runtime and audio sync; no additional slow-motion, transitions, or re-edits are required—just a faithful visual overhaul.

Deliverables:
• Restored 20-minute film in MOV (ProRes or similarly lossless codec)
• A short before/after sample clip for quick approval
• Brief notes on the AI models and settings used, so I can replicate tweaks later if needed

If you have a proven reel showing similar SD-to-HD (or better) upgrades, I’d love to see it before we lock the project.
