VR/AR Mining Safety Training Platform
Budget: $30 – $100 USD
I am building a comprehensive VR application that takes our employees through a realistic mine site, immersing them in day-to-day operations, critical safety protocols, and proper equipment handling. The end goal is an end-to-end training platform: a virtual walk-through of the entire site for first-time workers and, in parallel, an AR layer that lets trainees practise the same tasks on the shop floor with headsets or mobile devices.
Phase 1 – Virtual Reality tour
• Full 3D recreation of each production zone, haul roads, and plant areas
• Embedded safety prompts and hazard call-outs that match our current SOPs
• Interactive machinery models so users can inspect controls, perform start-up/shutdown, and spot-the-hazard exercises
• Session analytics logged to our LMS (xAPI/LRS preferred)
Phase 2 – Augmented Reality training
• Interactive simulations overlaying real equipment, guiding users through lock-out/tag-out and other high-risk procedures
• Real-time feedback on task completion, with pass/fail criteria pushed back to the same LMS
• Option to add step-by-step ghosted animations later, so please architect the content pipeline to accommodate future modules
Acceptance criteria
1. VR tour must run on Meta Quest 2/3 and Windows desktop.
Source files (Unity or Unreal project, textures, models) handed over on completion.
If you have solid Unity or Unreal experience, knowledge of mine-site workflows, and can demonstrate interactive simulations with real-time scoring, I would like to see your approach, timeline, and any similar links or builds you can share.
