Grumpy Old Man 3D Rigged Model for VR Golf Game
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We're in the exciting development phase of a VR Golf game and are on the lookout for a talented 3D modeler to create a standout cartoon-style, rigged character with several outfits that will bring our game to life. This character will be the user's host and guide and be in nearly every scene and level. It's critical that the humor and attitude come through at first glance.
The character's name is Mortimer, and he is a _very_ grumpy old man. He introduces each level and may mutter under his breath about the performance of the player. Each level has a different theme (think: space, jungle, arctic, etc), and Mortimer has a different outfit to match the theme. No matter what outfit Mortimer has, he should be immediately recognizable.
**Requirements:**
- Create a high-quality 3D cartoon-style model able to be imported into Unity.
- The character should be fully rigged and ready for animation - basic walk and arm movements. (Mortimer may talk, but his lips do not need to move)
- You will deliver 3 different outfits for the same model: a 1920s or 1930s golfer, a wizard, and a ninja. (See the attached images for inspiration, but we're not trying to have your version match any of these in particular)
- Ability to work closely with our team to incorporate specific design features and animations synchronizing with VR hardware capabilities.
**Ideal Skills and Experience:**
- Strong portfolio showcasing 3D models, particularly cartoon-style characters designed for VR environments.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and rigging software (e.g., Blender, Maya, or similar).
- Experience in game development, specifically for VR platforms, with an understanding of performance optimization for VR.
- Creativity and ability to translate concepts into engaging character designs.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration and feedback.
Successful completion of this project will enable several future projects, as we have 10-20 planned levels. There is an expectation also to have an animal companion in several levels, so future projects will include things like a parrot or a baby dragon or a monkey
