Camino de Santiago – Virtual Pilgrim
360 Long‑Form Video Series

Project background
In the Western world, the Camino de Santiago is widely regarded as a once‑in‑a‑lifetime pilgrimage — an epic journey of approximately 800 kilometres, typically completed over 33 days.
We have walked the entire Camino, from St Jean Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostela, and documented the journey using an Insta360 camera.
During our first complete walk, we edited most days into individual, long‑form one‑day walking videos, published on our YouTube channel. These videos form a complete, start‑to‑finish virtual Camino experience and act as the structural and stylistic reference for this project:

What we have already done
Walked the full 800 km Camino de Santiago end‑to‑end
Produced a 33‑day virtual Camino series (one video per day)
Proven audience interest in long‑form, meditative walking content
Established a clear editorial format, pacing, and visual language
Why this new project exists
We have since walked the Camino again, capturing the journey with new, upgraded Insta360 footage, with the explicit aim of raising the production standard across:
Manual framing and visual intent
Stability and smoothness
4K output quality
Sound design and immersion
Overall long‑form viewing comfort
The goal is not to reinvent the format, but to recreate and improve the existing series using this higher‑quality source material.
What we are looking for
We are looking for an editor (or small team) who is willing and able to take raw Insta360 footage and turn it into approximately 33 long‑form videos, closely aligned with the existing YouTube series — but executed to a higher technical and editorial standard.
Each video represents one full day of walking and is designed to be immersive, calm, and watchable for extended periods.
Core production requirements
Manual 360° alignment
All footage must be manually aligned
Auto‑alignment is not acceptable
Intentional left/right panning is required to maintain visual interest
Editing & output
One long‑form video per Camino day (~33 total)
Exported and upscaled to 4K (Super Scale–style workflow or equivalent)
Footage must be stabilised (historically ~0.8× speed, or software‑based)
Sound design
Calm, meditative soundtrack
Replacement ambient audio (original footstep audio is distracting/out of sync)
Removal of non‑local background sounds (e.g. Australian birds)
Graphics & structure
Existing maps, leaders, and branding templates are available
Templates are designed for DaVinci Resolve
Practical considerations
Total raw data volume: ~12 TB
Hardware: Requires a high‑performance workstation capable of handling heavy 360° workflows and long renders
Based on our experience: - ~8–10 hours of work per day of footage - 33 days ≈ 300–350 hours total
Outcome
The end result will be: - A complete 33‑day virtual Camino de Santiago - High‑quality, immersive, long‑form walking videos - A durable, evergreen content series suitable for YouTube and beyond
