Budget: $50 – $0 USD
8ball online
HTML5 Multiplayer Pool Game (Phaser + Node.js, Real-Time)
---
# Project Overview
We are building **Tacadinha.com**, a browser-based online pool (billiards) game focused on real-time 1v1 multiplayer gameplay.
Our goal is to develop a solid MVP with clean architecture and full ownership of the source code. This project must be built with scalability in mind, as it will evolve into a competitive online platform.
---
# Scope of Work (MVP)
We need a developer to build:
### Frontend
* HTML5 game (2D top-down pool table)
* Built using **Phaser 3 (preferred) or PixiJS**
* Smooth aiming, shooting mechanics, and ball physics
* Responsive design (desktop + mobile browser)
### Backend
* Node.js server
* WebSocket-based real-time communication
* Authoritative server architecture (anti-cheat, no desync)
### Multiplayer Features
* 1v1 online matches
* Room system (create/join via room code)
* Turn-based system
* Basic rules (simplified 8-ball or points mode)
* Server validation of shots and turns
* Proper state synchronization between players
* Basic reconnection handling
---
# Technical Requirements
* Server-authoritative simulation
* Clean and modular code structure
* Well-documented code
* Git repository under our ownership
* Clear setup and deployment instructions
* Designed for scalability
---
# What We’re Looking For
* Strong experience with Phaser 3 or PixiJS
* Experience building real-time multiplayer games
* Experience with WebSockets
* Understanding of authoritative server architecture
* Ability to design clean and scalable systems
* Previous game projects (portfolio required)
---
# Nice to Have (Optional)
* Experience with physics engines (e.g., Matter.js)
* Experience deploying Node.js applications
* Experience optimizing browser performance
---
# Future Roadmap (Not Part of MVP)
* Ranking system
* Matchmaking
* Player accounts
* Statistics
* Tournaments
* Monetization features
---
# Important
We are building this as a long-term product. Code quality, architecture, and scalability are extremely important.
Please include:
* Links to previous multiplayer projects
* Your proposed tech stack
* Estimated timeline for MVP
* Estimated budget
