2D Educational Game Development

Educational 2D Game Project – Math & Grammar-Based Interactive Gameplay Project Description: We are planning to develop a fun and educational 2D browser-based game aimed at students (ages 7–14). The core idea is to mix classic game modes like platformer, racing, and tower defense with interactive math and grammar questions to both entertain and educate the player. For example: A question such as “3 x 4 = ?” will appear on the screen during gameplay, and the player must select the correct answer from 4 options. Choosing the right answer allows the character to move forward, defeat enemies, or unlock the next stage. As levels progress, both the game difficulty and the complexity of the questions will gradually increase in a wave-based system. Key Features: • 2D game (first for browser/web, mobile version planned later) • Focus on basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and language/grammar (synonyms, sentence correction, etc.) • Classic gameplay elements: platformer, endless runner, and tower defense • Correct answers trigger progression, attacks, or upgrades • Wrong answers cause penalties (e.g. time loss, character debuff) • Wave-based level system (increasing difficulty) • In-game coins to upgrade character stats, weapons, and abilities • Simple UI, engaging visuals, sound effects, and fun animations • Scoreboard, main menu, settings, and player profile system Target Platform (Phase 1): • Web browser (HTML5/Unity WebGL or similar) • Mobile port (Android/iOS) may follow later, depending on success Target Audience: • Elementary & middle school students (7–14 years old) • Designed to be both fun and parent-approved Phase 1 Goal: We would like to start with a playable prototype/demo, including: • A single playable level • Sample enemies • A few math/grammar questions • One upgrade mechanic If we’re happy with the collaboration and result, we’re open to expanding this into a long-term full game project.
