Realistic Sci-Fi Book Cover & Sketches

Job ID: 40334656

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

My novel DUMB 31unfolds in a gritty dystopian future, so the artwork has to feel tangible, cinematic, and just a touch unsettling. I need one full-colour, realistic cover that revolves around the setting. Think of a world that was rebuilt to a time before humans, with foliage and nature retaking old roads and buildings.

Inside the book, every chapter opens with a small, minimalistic yet clean black-and-white sketch—simple line work, purposeful negative space, but still unmistakably tied to the gritty world you establish on the cover. A cooking pot, a boot, a makeshift raft etc.

Deliverables
• Front, spine, and back cover illustration supplied as layered PSD or Procreate file plus a print-ready PDF (300 dpi, full bleed).
• interior sketches, each in high-resolution PNG (minimum 2000 px on the longest side) ready for grayscale print.
• A short note with colour codes and font placement suggestions so my layout designer can drop the art straight into InDesign.

Acceptance criteria
• Cover must clearly feature the agreed symbolic element and evoke a dystopian atmosphere.
• Interior sketches follow the same visual language—minimalistic, clean lines, consistent scale, and monochrome.
• All files pass a pre-press check: correct dimensions, resolution, and no embedded profiles that might shift colours in CMYK.

Please include links or attachments to at least three previous pieces that prove your command of realistic, science-fiction imagery. If you’ve illustrated dystopian worlds before, all the better—the more immersive your portfolio, the faster we can lock in a style.
