Realistic Fantasy Horror TTRPG Art -- 2

Job ID: 40105359

Budget: £20 – £250 GBP

I’m putting the finishing touches on a brand-new tabletop RPG and now it needs the visuals that will set the tone for every reader. The setting blends grim fantasy with an undercurrent of steampunk machinery and a pinch of far-future science fiction, but the illustrations must first and foremost feel steeped in fantasy—myth, unsettling, and absolutely believable. A realistic style is essential; think detailed anatomy, textured metalwork, and lighting that sells the horror without slipping into pure gore.

The immediate priorities are:
• A striking, print-ready front (and ideally back) cover that signals dark adventure at a glance.
• A collection of creature portraits—each one unique, atmospheric, and ready for both page layout and later marketing use.

Final artwork should arrive as layered PSD or high-resolution TIFF/PNG files, 300 dpi minimum, with any fonts or textures you embed cleared for commercial use. I’ll provide page dimensions, margin guides, and lore briefs for every monster so you can jump straight into thumbnails and colour keys (or value studies, if you prefer starting in grayscale).

If this mix of fantasy awe, steampunk grit, and lurking horror sparks ideas, I’d love to see a quick note on your proposed approach and a link to work that shows comparable, realistic creature or cover pieces. Let’s give this game the visuals it deserves.

The creatures in my book are all home made and unique but many are based on concepts of classic creatures. I have some mock ups created using ai but want a real feel to them. I am looking at about 50+ pictures in b&w pen. I want to have a small example set made then push towards the whole collection after marketing and kickstart. This is all privately funded so cost must be low.
