Realistic Board-Game Card Designs
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m finalising a new tabletop game and I’m ready for the visual phase. The job centres on two key assets:
• A full deck of standard-playing-card–sized cards, each featuring a realistic character illustration in the foreground and a subtle, complimentary background pattern that ties the set together. No rules text or stats are needed on the face—art focus only.
• A matching game-board layout that echoes the look and palette of the card art so everything feels like one cohesive product.
Artwork style must be realistic, not cartoon or high-fantasy. I’m after something painterly or illustrative rather than photobashed, but still grounded and believable. Consistent proportions, lighting, and anatomy across the set are crucial.
Deliverables
1. Print-ready CMYK files for every card (standard poker size with a 3 mm bleed).
2. Layered source files (PSD, AI, or Procreate) so I can future-proof edits.
3. The board artwork at full print resolution, also with bleed and safe margins.
4. A single colour palette and font suggestion sheet so the box and rulebook can match later.
I will supply written briefs for each character and the board layout schematic on award. Please include a quick link to your portfolio—especially any realistic illustration or prior game work—so I can see your fit. Looking forward to collaborating!
