Front-View Castle Pencil Sketch
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m commissioning a hand-drawn pencil sketch for inclusion in my upcoming novel. The image needs to show a large castle set on a sloping hill, viewed straight on from the front.
Scene layout
• The left side of the hill (from the viewer’s perspective) holds a small village at the base, safely away from the sea.
• The right side drops off as a sheer cliff to the water.
• A single outer curtain wall surrounds the entire complex with one central gate; a bare road leads straight out from this gate without side walls.
• Inside, an inner wall circles the keep, also featuring one aligned gate.
• The hillside should appear barren for roughly the first hundred yards below the outer wall.
Style requirements
• Moderate detail with clear features – every structure and terrain element must be recognisable, but no need for ornate stone carvings or hyper-realistic texturing.
• Front view perspective only; no bird’s-eye or angled rendering.
• Atmosphere: clear day, so keep shading light and consistent—no dramatic weather effects.
Deliverable
A clean, high-resolution scan (300 dpi or better) of the finished pencil artwork, ready to drop into my book layout.
I’ll gladly answer any follow-up questions to keep the composition faithful to this brief and ensure the final piece fits seamlessly into the novel.
