Fantasy Tarot Card Illustrator
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m creating an original tarot deck and I want the first 14 cards brought to life in a rich, fantasy style. Picture deep, moody tones—jewel-like shadows, glowing highlights—and imagery that weaves mythical creatures together with clear astrological symbolism. I already have written briefs for every card (iconography, palette notes, lore references) and will share them once we start.
Here’s what I need from you:
• Fourteen finished illustrations, one for each assigned card, delivered as high-resolution, print-ready files (CMYK, 300 dpi) plus layered source files so the printer can spot-varnish selected elements.
• Consistent borders, scale, and typography placeholders to match the rest of the eventual deck.
• A short round of revisions on each card so the creatures, signs, and color balance stay true to the brief. I will attach a couple example thoughts and images:
7 of Wands:
KEYWORDS Defense · Resilience · Wisdom earned through hardship · Holding ground against many
The Work. Power gained through survival; defense, holding the line.
Upright. Defense, resilience, wisdom earned through hardship, holding ground against many.
Reversed. Becoming what you fight, corruption through accumulation, the wall that isolates.
In a Reading
Past — Old wounds hardened into strength
Present — You are protected — but standing alone
Future — Survival that may cost identity
Reflection. The Stoics called it the inner citadel — the fortress of the self that no siege can take, only the cost of living always behind walls. Marcus Aurelius wrote that the obstacle becomes the way, that what you survive becomes your strength. But the shield that absorbs every blow also remembers every blow, and the survivor risks becoming an armory of old wounds. The gorgon on the aegis was once a face. Protection that never lowers its guard slowly forgets there was ever a face beneath it.
If you have a portfolio that shows dark fantasy artwork, celestial themes, or previous tarot work, that will help me choose quickly. Let’s collaborate and set the visual tone for the entire deck.
