Topo-Based Water Main Layout
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I have a recent DWG topo survey and need a complete water main layout drafted directly on that file. The drawing must read clearly at an engineering-friendly scale, yet I’m not fixed on 1:100, 1:500 or 1:1000; please recommend the most appropriate option once you review the extents and detail of the survey.
One area that needs particular consideration is the undeveloped land shown on the plan. Alignments, easements, and any future service stubs should respect its current green-field status so that later subdivision or construction is straightforward. If your design approach requires evaluating neighbouring high-traffic corridors or environmentally sensitive zones, feel free to flag those interactions, but the priority remains the unused parcel.
I have not specified a pipe material or standard. Whether PVC, ductile iron, or steel ends up being optimal will depend on pressure zones, soil conditions, and cost—your guidance here is welcome.
Deliverables:
• Updated DWG (and matching PDF) with the proposed water main, valves, hydrants, and key notes
• A brief design memo summarising scale choice, material recommendations, and any easement assumptions
All survey layers, coordinates, and control points must be preserved so our internal team can continue the model without translation issues.
