Reduce Home Floor Plan
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
My current set of drawings shows a 3,585 sq ft single-storey home, but I need to bring the total down to roughly 2,800 sq ft. The entire left side of the house, along with the kitchen footprint and layout, must stay exactly as drawn; everything else is available for refinement.
I already see potential savings in several zones—guest bedrooms (and their closets), the wet bar / wine cellar, foyer, interior stairs, the safe room, laundry, mud-room-slash-broom-closet, and the dedicated pool bath—but I’m open to any creative re-work that leaves the flow logical and construction-friendly.
What I’d like from you
• A revised, fully dimensioned floor plan that lands within ±50 sq ft of the 2,800 sq ft goal.
• At least one alternative layout that shows a different way to hit the target while still respecting the “no-touch” kitchen and left-side zones.
• Source files (DWG or RVT) and a clean PDF set ready for contractor review.
Acceptance criteria
1. Overall square footage verified on the drawing.
2. No changes made east of the kitchen or on the left wing.
3. Circulation, structural spans, and mechanical chases remain feasible for typical U.S. residential codes.
I’ll supply the existing CAD and PDF files immediately, answer questions quickly, and give prompt feedback on draft layouts. Let me know how soon you can turn around the first concept.
