I regularly receive FrameCAD .dwg files for properties we are building and need fast, accurate pricing so I can turn quotes around to my own clients. Each batch is small—typically one to five drawings—but the files carry complex annotations and the drafting style is never identical from job to job.
Here’s how the workflow will look: I’ll email you the drawings together with my current $/lb rate. You review every line, calculate the steel weight, and send back a single figure for the full job plus a short breakdown that shows how you arrived at it. Turnaround must be no longer than 24 hours each time, as I’m often working against tight bid deadlines.
Your deliverable every time:
• Total calculated weight for all drawings in the batch
• Final quote based on the rate I supply
• Brief calculation sheet (spreadsheet, PDF, or marked-up DWG—whatever is quickest for you) so I can double-check numbers if a client asks.
Solid command of FrameCAD is essential; familiarity with variable drawing conventions will help you spot any hidden members or non-standard gauges. If this pilot run goes smoothly, I’ll keep sending work to you whenever new plans land on my desk.
