Draft Basic Traditional House Blueprints
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I have a floor-plan sketch and an exterior photo of a traditional-style home that I want translated into clean, contractor-ready blueprints. These drawings only need to show the overall layout and accurate dimensions; full structural or engineering details are not required. Their sole purpose is to help me gather bids from subcontractors as I plan to general-contract the build myself.
A few deviations from what you see:
-basement to be unfinished--just a rough-in for basement bath for now (ignore basement floorplan on dwgs)
-assume upstairs has 2 small bedrooms and smallish bathroom with tub/shower.
-make windows bigger than the design I am sending
-upstairs ceiling height 8'
-knee walls upstairs--whatever height is typical
Other assumptions:
Gas dryer, gas water heater (probably will be tankless)
nothing too fancy
Please make sure the kitchen is clearly laid out with appliance locations called out, and the bathrooms show each fixture in place. Beyond that, walls, windows, doors, and room labels with measurements will be enough. I will supply the reference image, my hand-drawn plan, and any extra notes you need. I plan to use SIPS panels for the shell of the house and the roof of the house (not garage), so I would ask that you include those if you know how. Use attached images as guide.
Deliverables
• Printable PDF set (letter or 24×36 preferred)
• Original CAD file (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) so I can tweak later if needed
Acceptance
• All rooms match my sketch within ±1″
• Kitchen and bath fixtures labeled and dimensioned
• File formats open without missing fonts or Xrefs
If you’re comfortable producing clear, tidy drawings in a traditional style, let’s get started.
