Design Extension for Existing House Plan

Project: Existing House Plans and Proposed Extension

I am providing two diagrams:

• Diagram 1 – Existing house floor plan showing current room layout, doors, windows and measurements in millimetres (mm).
• Diagram 2 – Site plan showing lot dimensions, location of the house on the block, existing gates and site measurements in feet/inches.

Please note that the existing kitchen and laundry shown in Diagram 2 are to be converted into a new Bedroom and Bathroom as shown in Diagram 1.

Required Drawings

(1) Existing House and Site Plan (Metric)

Please prepare a scaled drawing showing:

• The entire existing house as it will be after conversion of the old kitchen and laundry into a Bedroom and Bathroom.
• All room dimensions and overall building dimensions in millimetres (mm).
• All existing doors, windows and openings.
• The location of the house on the lot based on Diagram 2.
• Existing gates and relevant site features shown in Diagram 2.
• The proposed extension area measuring approximately 3,000 mm × 9,000 mm.
• Any uncovered/open areas clearly identified and labelled.

The drawing should clearly show the relationship between:
• Existing house
• Proposed extension
• Open space areas
• Property boundaries

(2) Existing House and Site Plan (Imperial)

Please provide the same drawing with measurements converted to feet and inches.

(3) Roof Plan and Elevation Concept

Please prepare a roof plan showing:

Existing House:
• Metal hip roof (sloping on all four sides meeting at the ridge).
• Eaves approximately 600 mm wide.
• Gutters shown.

Proposed Extension:
• Flat roof design.
• Roof to sit below the existing roof and eave line where practical.
• Eaves and guttering shown.
• Indicate how the new roof connects to the existing structure.

(4) Proposed Extension Design (3000 x 9000mm) at the back of the existing house

Please design the new extension to include:

Kitchen
• Sink.
• Stone benchtop with adequate preparation/work space.
• Under-bench cupboards.
• Overhead cupboards extending close to ceiling height.
• Cooktop (preferably electric/induction).
• Built-in oven.
• Rangehood.
• Microwave space.
• Refrigerator location.

Laundry
• Compact laundry area.
• Space for washing machine.
• Storage cupboards where practical.

Dining Area
• Open-plan dining area connected to the kitchen.

Covered Outdoor Area
• Covered/open space (under roof) adjoining the extension.
• Clearly indicate dimensions and intended use.

(5) Detailed Layout Drawing

Please provide a dimensioned floor plan of the proposed extension showing:

• Kitchen layout and cabinetry dimensions.
• Appliance locations.
• Laundry layout.
• Dining area dimensions.
• Covered outdoor area dimensions.
• Overall extension dimensions.
• Internal circulation and access points.
• Relationship of the extension to the existing house.

The objective is to clearly visualise the existing house, the proposed extension, roof design, room layouts, and how all components fit within the site boundaries.
