Curved Deck Surface Plan
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
The framing for my curved deck is complete; what I still need is a clear, build-ready surface layout that tells my crew exactly how to install the composite boards. All dimensions for the footprint are in the drawing attached to this posting.
Key parameters to respect
• Composite boards only, 5.5" actual width
• Maximum individual board length 20 ft
• 1/8" uniform spacing between all boards
• Straight, horizontal run across the deck (no diagonal or herringbone)
• Single picture-frame border following the outer curve
Because the deck perimeter is curved, the plan must show how each field board terminates cleanly into the border, where butt joints fall, and how to stagger them so we stay within length limits while keeping waste low. Include any taper cuts needed near the curve, expansion-gap allowances particular to composite material, recommended fastening/hidden-clip pattern, and corner detailing for the picture frame.
Deliverables
1. Scaled top-view drawing (PDF + editable DWG/SKP) showing every board, labeled with length and cut angle where required.
2. Board schedule / cut list summarizing quantities, full-length pieces, and off-cuts.
3. Installation notes that cover gap spacing, screw or clip spacing, and sequence of laying the picture frame versus field boards.
Accuracy matters: if my carpenter can unroll your plan on site and install without further math, the job is a success.
