Convert Drawings into AutoCAD Plans

I have a set of existing architectural drawings that must be converted into precise 2D plans in AutoCAD. The source material is complete, so no design work is needed—this is a straight-forward drafting job focused on accuracy and clean layer management.
All dimensions, line weights, and annotations in the original drawings need to be replicated exactly. I also want a logical layer structure so future edits are simple. While my immediate requirement is for plans only, the file structure should remain flexible enough that elevations or sections could be added later if I decide to expand the scope.
