Ceiling Fire Separation Plan Update

Job ID: 40240768

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I already have permit-ready drawings for a two-unit renovation, but the city has come back asking for explicit fire-separation details between the stacked units. The only area that needs attention is the inter-unit ceiling.

Here is what I need added to the existing sheets:
• A compliant 1-hour rated gypsum board assembly designed for wood joists, called out in plan, section and detail.
• Notes identifying fastening, staggered joints, insulation (if required for the rating), and any resilient channels or backing.
• Reference to the applicable code section and UL or GA assembly number so the reviewer can approve it quickly.
• An updated life-safety sheet (or an overlay detail) highlighting the new ceiling rating and continuity at penetrations for lights, ducts and sprinkler piping, if present.
• A revision cloud and date so the city sees exactly what changed.

I will send you the original DWG/PDF set as soon as we start. Please return the revised sheets in the same format, ready for immediate resubmission, along with the source file so I can archive it.

Let me know if you need any additional field information on joist spacing or existing ceiling height; I can provide photos and measurements right away.
