I’m removing an 8-inch ductile-iron lateral that branches off a 12-inch transite main located roughly five feet below grade. Before demolition starts I need one clean, hand-sketched drawing—nothing elaborate—showing exactly how to cap the 8-inch line about one foot from where it leaves the main. The sketch must carry a current California Mechanical Engineer stamp and be delivered as a scanned PDF.
The drawing has to make the field work crystal-clear, so please lay out both plan and section views, note all critical dimensions, and add concise step-by-step notes that explain the capping procedure (tools, fitting type, torque requirements, and any grout or restraint you recommend). I don’t need extensive material schedules or 3-D modeling; the goal is a field-ready sketch that our crew and the permitting agency can accept immediately.

• Hand-sketched, California-stamped drawing in PDF, fully legible at 11 × 17 or letter size, showing plan and section, dimensions, elevation call-outs, and the narrated capping procedure.
