CAD Design for Smokeless Firepit Components
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
**Project Work Description – CAD Engineering & Cut-Sheet Development
Smokeless Firepit Components:
Overview:
Infinity Pools & Stoneworks is developing a premium fire pit product line manufactured from both mild steel and stainless steel. We are seeking a freelance CAD engineer/designer to produce accurate fabrication files, ensure proper engineering fit-up, and create a complete SolidWorks model for visual presentation and manufacturing readiness.
Scope of Work
1. CAD Fabrication Drawings & DXF Cut Files
Create 2D CAD cut sheets for all fire pit components.
Output DXF files optimized for CNC waterjet or laser cutting.
Define correct kerf spacing, tab/slot geometry, bend allowances (if applicable), hole spacing, alignment features, and sheet orientation.
Ensure parts are designed for flat-table cutting from:
Mild steel plate
304 stainless steel plate
2. Engineering Fit-Up & Part Integration
Engineer the parts to ensure they assemble cleanly and accurately with standard manufacturing tolerances.
Evaluate angles, radii, and transitions—especially where angled planes meet curved sections.
Confirm that all parts:
Match correct clearances
Fit together without forced tolerance stacking
Maintain structural rigidity once assembled
Provide recommendations for improving manufacturability, airflow (if applicable), and long-term durability.
3. SolidWorks Modeling
Build a full SolidWorks assembly model of the fire pit.
Create:
Individual part files
Full assembly
Exploded view
Motion study (if needed to show how the pieces lock together)
Confirm all parts fit and assemble in the CAD environment before cut files are finalized.
4. Visual Renderings for Sales & Marketing
Produce high-quality visual renderings of the fire pit:
Stainless steel finish option
Mild steel raw/seasoned option
Provide multiple viewpoints and lighting setups for use in:
Website
Social media
Product sheets
Client proposals
5. Deliverables
DXF cut files for every flat part
2D technical drawings with dimensions & notes
SolidWorks part files (.sldprt)
SolidWorks assembly file (.sldasm)
Exploded assembly view
Renderings in JPG/PNG (high resolution)
Optional: short animation for sales use
6. Materials / Thickness (Expected Range)
(These can be confirmed or adjusted during engineering.)
3/16" mild steel
7 ga. 304 stainless steel
Optional: 10-ga versions depending on structural needs
7. Expectations
Must be proficient in SolidWorks and 2D DXF preparation for waterjet/laser cutters.
Must understand fabrication tolerances, sheet metal behavior, and flat-pattern development.
Collaborative approach—open to revisions as the design evolves.
