Backyard Deck Plan Drawing
Budget: $10 – $30 CAD
I’m ready to build a small wooden deck in my backyard and need a clear, construction-ready drawing to hand to my contractor. The deck will be rectangular and no larger than 150 sq ft, so the plan should lay out precise length-by-width dimensions, footing locations, joist spacing, and stair or railing details if space allows. I’m comfortable reviewing PDFs, but if you work in SketchUp, AutoCAD, or a similar CAD platform, please include the original file as well so minor adjustments can be made later.
To keep things moving quickly, I’ll provide a rough sketch with exact site measurements and photos of the area as soon as we start. I’ll then need:
• A scaled top-view drawing with measurements
• A simple framing plan showing joists, beams, and posts
• One elevation view for clarity
• A brief materials list summarizing lumber sizes and hardware
I’ll sign off once the drawing prints cleanly on 11" × 17", aligns with my dimensions, and includes all structural elements. If that sounds straightforward, let’s get this deck sketched out.
