Australian-Compliant Chicken Coop Drawings

I’m building a 7 m × 4 m × 2.8 m lean-to self-supported chicken coop in Nillumbik Shire, Victoria and I need a full set of submission-ready drawings that satisfy all relevant Australian Standards (including AS1684 for timber framing and AS/NZS 4600 where applicable) as well as local council requirements.

The heart of the job is the framing and bracing, so I’ll need detailed section drawings that show every connection, tie-down, stud, noggin and brace. The structure will be from H3 treated pine all posts will be round 120mm diameter; if slight dimensional tweaks reduce off cuts, note them so material waste and cost stay low. Will need entry door as well as cleaning hatch through wall and egg retrieval door. Open to design concepts and we can tweak small details as we go.

Roofing is split into three clearly defined zones:
• Zone 1 – Colorbond sheeting All walls enclosed
• Zone 2 – Laserlite skylight panels blended with Colorbond for weatherproof light entry
• Zone 3 – Heavy-duty mesh for ventilation

Please specify fastening schedules, member sizes, wind-classification assumptions and any additional tie-downs or straps so I can lodge the plans without surprises.

Deliverables I expect:
• Dimensioned A3 PDF drawing set with council-friendly title block
• Framing & bracing section drawings at suitable scale, including uplift/bracing calculations
• Full material take-off (timber lengths, roofing sheets, fixings, mesh, flashings) with quantities
• Step-by-step assembly instructions keyed to the drawings
• Compliance summary mapping each element back to the relevant Australian Standard clause

Draft files in DWG or SketchUp are welcome alongside the PDFs so I can make future tweaks. If anything in the brief is unclear, feel free to flag it before starting; I want to lodge a smooth, first-pass approval.
