Affordable House Elevation Drawings
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have already sketched a simple main-floor layout for a small, standalone home (no attached garage, 8-foot ceilings, unfinished basement below). Now I need clear, build-ready elevation drawings that I can hand to suppliers and trades for accurate quoting and material take-offs.
Scope
• Front and side elevations only
• Each sheet must show window and door placements, exterior finishes, and the roof profile.
• Exterior material preference is wood; feel free to suggest cost-saving species or profiles that still suit a tight budget.
• Note any walls that must carry load down to the basement so my builder can place beams/posts correctly.
• Call out heights, pitches, and key dimensions so framers and truss designers can pick them up without guesswork.
• Keep ergonomics in mind (clear head heights at entries, window sill heights, etc.) and flag anything that looks awkward before it becomes concrete.
Deliverables
1. PDF set ready for print at ¼" = 1'-0".
2. Editable CAD (DWG/DXF) files so I can pass them to structural and energy consultants later.
3. A brief summary sheet listing material quantities you have inferred (windows, doors, siding square footage, roof squares).
If something in my sketch conflicts with good practice, please highlight it and suggest an alternative—we can iterate quickly. I’m aiming for a practical, affordable design, so efficiency and clarity are more valuable to me than flashy rendering.
